This summer school seeks to support the continuing professional development of religious educators. It offers practical engagement with crucial themes and questions in the contemporary RE classroom.

Topics include

  • JCRES Section C: World Religions

  • LCRES Section E: Religion and Gender
  • LCRES Section H: The Bible: Literature and Sacred Texts
  • LCRES Section F: Issues of Justice and Peace

Use of IT in the RE classroom

  • Interactive Whiteboard
  • Movie Maker presentations
  • Using PowerPoint creatively

Critical analysis of specific RE methodologies

  • Case Study
  • Interpretation of Data

What recognition is available for participants?

Participants attending the course for audit will receive a certificate of attendance. Those attending for credit and who successfully complete module related reading and the approved module assignment will receive 10 credits which can contribute to a Postgraduate Award in Religion and Education.
