International Summer School:
Religion and Belief in a Secular Age

Date: Monday 8th - Thursday 11th June 2009
Location: Mater Dei Institute of Education

Drawing upon the themes highlighted in Charles Taylor's A Secular Age this four-day international summer school will provide participants with an opportunity to explore the way in which theology and philosophy, when placed in dialogue with the social sciences, can reinvigorate public discourse. Those enrolling for the international summer school will not only attend the conference but, in addition, will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in four specialised interdisciplinary workshops which will be aimed at both graduate students and teachers of Religious Education.

There are two different ways of participating in the summer school:

  • Summer School Audit (Conference and Workshops)
  • Summer School Credit (Reading, Conference, Workshops and Assignment)
