Sports Facilities

MDI has two full size squash courts and a soccer/GAA pitch on campus. MDI has an impressive record in competing in GAA competitions. Over the past three years the men's Gaelic football team has been the most successful of the team sports, reaching the championship final in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and winning the league final in 2008 in their division.

As a college of Dublin City University students may, under certain conditions, use the DCU sports centre facilities, which include a 25m swimming pool, as well as membership of DCU's clubs and societies.

Through MDI's affiliation to CUSAI (Colleges and Universities Sports Association of Ireland) students have the chance to participate on a national and international level in their chosen sport or cultural activity.

Last March fourth year B.Rel.Ed. English student Carrie Doyle was part of the DCU Devils Womens' Rugby team that won the 2009 CUSAI All-Ireland league title.
