Postgraduate applications for 2012-13 entry are now being accepted for the following courses: MA in Chaplaincy Studies and Pastoral Work, MA in Poetry Studies, MA in Ethics and MA in Religion and Education Post Primary.

St Vincent de Paul Food Appeal

On Thursday 8th December Sean Walsh, Paul Garland and Ciaran Flynn organised a food appeal in aid of St. Vincent de Paul. It was also the final day of term and the lads got everyone engaged in the Charity/Christmas spirit by donating food and wearing festive clothing.

Leisure and the Irish in the Nineteenth Century Conference (Call for Papers)

The eighteenth annual conference of the Society for the Study of Nineteenth Century Ireland on the theme Leisure and the Irish. The call for papers is now open. The conference will take place in the Institute from Thursday 28 June 2012 to Friday 29 June 2012.

Congratulations to Helen O’Kelly who graduated with a Certificate in Theology and Lifelong Education at aged 91. Helen, is both MDI's and DCU's oldest graduate.

Mater Dei Schola on Lyric FM

MDI’s chamber choir has been selected for the Lyric FM Choirs for Christmas competition. Tune in to Niall Carroll’s Classical Daytime on 22nd December to hear the choir perform a Hungarian Christmas lullaby, Karácsonyi Bölcsődal, composed by Lajos Bárdos.

Irish Studies Seminar Series

MDI’s Irish Studies seminar series was addressed by Liam Cullen, former special adviser to the government, on Tuesday evening, 29 November. His talk provided a fascinating analysis of the role of the special adviser within the Irish political system.
