Mater Dei Schola on Lyric FM

MDI’s chamber choir has been selected for the Lyric FM Choirs for Christmas competition. Tune in to Niall Carroll’s Classical Daytime on 22nd December to hear the choir perform a Hungarian Christmas lullaby, Karácsonyi Bölcsődal, composed by Lajos Bárdos. Mater Dei Schola is a small mixed choir drawn from the larger Mater Dei Chorale and is conducted by music lecturer Róisín Blunnie. The Schola performs at mass and other events at the Institute and the choir members are delighted to be making their Lyric debut. Lyric FM Carols for Christmas is RTE's annual choral celebration and features choirs from schools, colleges and communities all over Ireland.
