Poetry in Process - 1 Day Event

The Irish Centre for Poetry Studies, Mater Dei Institute (DCU), Clonliffe Road, Dublin 3.



The Irish Centre for Poetry Studies is holding a day dedicated to the theme of “Poetry in Process”. The morning will feature workshop discussions by scholars and poets of: manuscripts, drafts and revisions of poems, poetry in performance, changes in critical reception, works in progress, translation, the making of books / magazines / audio and video recording / other poetic artefacts, ideas of inspiration and creative process, collaboration and influence.

Lunch will be provided, and accompanied by a performance of Frank O’Hara’s Lunch Poems by volunteers (email Michael.hinds@materdei.dcu.ie to book a particular poem that you wish to read).

The afternoon will feature a reading by Jamaican poet Kei Miller and an interactive session featuring three Italian poets (Andrea Garbin, Fabio Barcellandi, Luca Artoli) and their Irish translator, Dave Lordan.
