2011/12 Entry Requirement for those presenting GCSE/GCE A Levels

MD201 - MD301 - MD401 / Minimum Entry Requirements

• The applicant must present six passes in recognised subjects (a grade C or above on a GCSE or GCE Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level paper course, or a grade D or above on a GCE Advanced (A2) Level paper, counts as one pass).
• 2 GCE A2 Level subjects at grade C or better plus 4 GCSE Level or GCE AS Level subjects at grade C or better, which must include Maths, and English or Irish, are required.
• Those applying for MD401, must attain a minimum grade D in GCE A2 Level Music or a minimum grade C in GCE AS Level Music. Students unable to take GCE A2 or AS Level Music may apply directly to the Head of Music for equivalency at the Mater Dei Music test. Applicants must also pass the Music test.

MD500 / Minimum Entry Requirements

• The applicant must present six passes in recognised subjects (a grade C or above on a GCSE or GCE Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level paper, or a grade D or above on a GCE Advanced (A2) Level paper, counts as one pass).
• 2 GCE A2 Level subjects at grade C or better plus 4 GCE AS Level or GCSE Level subjects at grade C or better, which must include Maths, and English or Irish are required.

An applicant's score will be calculated as follows:

• Their best 4 GCE Advanced Level (A2) subjects from one academic year.

       OR

• Their best 3 GCE Advanced Level (A2) subjects from one academic year plus one GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS) in a different subject from the same or the preceding academic year only.
